Isaiah Tadlock is the3rd great grandson of Private William Smithey of Company B, 16th Texas Cavalry. A native Texan, and historian-in-training, Tadlock has been researching the 16th Texas Cavalry and its men since 2009. Tadlock received his Associate of Arts in History from Blinn College in 2011, and his Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Houston-Victoria in 2015. Currently, he is working on his Master of Arts in History at Sam Houston State University. He currently lives in South Texas with his wife and two daughters. The history of the 16th Texas Cavalry is a passion project for him, and is being made into a book. Descendants of the men of the 16th Texas Cavalry are encouraged to contribute information about their ancestors, in order to fully complete the story.
